Shipping, Warranty & Returns

🚚 Fast NZ-Wide Shipping

We ship using NZ Post and Mainfreight to ensure quick and reliable delivery across New Zealand.

  • NZ Post: Overnight in the South Island, 1–3 days nationwide

  • Mainfreight: 3–5 days for DG (dangerous goods) items such as batteries

Delivery charges are calculated at checkout.
If you need special shipping arrangements, just contact us — we're happy to help.

You’re also welcome to collect from our Christchurch store.

🔧 Assembly

Our products are designed to be easy to set up.

Scooters:
✔️ Arrives 90% assembled in the box.

Electric Bikes:
✔️ Arrive part-assembled
✔️ Typically require:

  • Front wheel installation

  • Handlebars

  • Rear rack or basket (if included)

All bikes and scooters include a small tool kit.
Bikes also come with a free pump.

Electric Dirt Bikes 

Electric dirt bikes are shipped 90–95% assembled and are very straightforward to finish.

✔️ Typically require:

  • Handlebars: attach and tighten using included clamps

  • Front wheel: slide into forks and tighten axle nut

  • Front brake caliper alignment: ensure rotor sits cleanly between pads

  • Foot pegs & side stand: some models require bolting these on

  • Battery installation: insert battery and connect main power lead (varies by model)

  • Check all bolts: quick safety check of stem, axle, lever, and linkage bolts

  • Tyres: inflate to recommended PSI

Most bikes include:

  • A basic tool kit for assembly

  • Charger and documentation

  • User manual or quick-start guide

Assembly time is usually 10–20 minutes depending on experience.

👉 Please fully charge your product before its first use.

📦 Damaged Deliveries

If your order arrives damaged:

  1. Sign the courier slip as “DAMAGED”

  2. Take photos of the box and product

  3. Email the photos the same day to: info@blacksheeptrading.co.nz

  4. Leave the product aside and wait for further instructions

Carriers may decline claims if the parcel is not signed as damaged.

↩️ Returns & Refunds

If we have sent an incorrect or faulty item, we will arrange a return or replacement.

  • Refunds are issued via bank transfer

  • Items must be returned in original packaging

  • Return shipping is at the customer’s cost unless the error is ours

  • Change-of-mind purchases may be eligible for exchange, but refunds may not be available

🛡️ 1-Year Warranty on All Products

Every product sold by Black Sheep Trading Ltd is covered by a full 1-year warranty on the entire unit — including motors, frames, batteries, electronics, and accessories.

The warranty covers manufacturing faults and defects only.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Crash damage

  • Misuse, abuse, or water damage

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Modified or tampered products

If you believe your item has a fault, please contact us before returning it — many issues can be resolved without freight costs.

Returned items must be clean and include proof of purchase.

⚖️ Your Consumer Rights

Your purchase is protected under New Zealand law:

Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA):
You are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if a product is faulty.

Fair Trading Act:
You are protected from misleading information about product quality, pricing, safety standards, or origin.
